The Saudi Food and Drug Authority temporarily banned importing poultry meat, eggs, products and equipment from Flevoland province in Holland beside its previous temporary ban on importing the same products from Friesland province because of a proliferated ferocious type of Avian influenza (“bird flu”).
Excluded from the temporary ban are the poultry meat, eggs and their products that are thermally treated in a way that ensures destroying the avian flu virus provided that the imported products are in conformity with the Saudi Arabian approved health requirements and standards and a health certificate by a competent official authority in Netherlands be attached to the imported products. The temporary ban lasts until poultry health is restored and the situation returns to normal.
