The Saudi Food and Drug Authority temporarily banned importing poultry meat, table eggs, products and equipment from Bács-Kiskun province in Hungary beside its previous temporary ban on importing the same products from Békés, Csongrád, and Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok provinces because of a proliferated ferocious type of Avian influenza (“bird flu”).
Excluded from the temporary ban are the poultry meat, eggs and their products that are thermally treated in a way that ensures destroying the avian flu virus provided that the imported products are in conformity with the Saudi Arabian approved health requirements and standards and a health certificate by a competent official authority in Hungary be attached to the imported products. The temporary ban lasts until poultry health is restored and the situation returns to normal.
