After calls have been recently spread in the social networks for removal of vegetable oils and especially palm oil from human food claiming that they may cause cancer, the Saudi Food & Drug Authority would like to clarify that it has reviewed the reports of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) on the probable hazardous use of vegetable oils especially the palm oil in human food, but found no such reports recommending to stop using palm oil in food products.
