Saudi - Philippine Meeting Discusses the Issues and Problems of Philippine Employment in Saudi Arabia

​Investors of  recruitment offices, during the meeting with the Philippine private sector representative Ms. Esterlita Heyzon and the accompanying delegation on Tuesday evening at Riyadh Chamber, introduced several proposals about ensuring and keeping rights for Saudi employers and Filipino employees. They also called for a way to solve problems between the two sides according to  the conditions stipulated in the employment contract.

                In addition, they assured  the importance of the approval of registration in the new recruitment offices of the Philippine, Overseas Labor Office in Riyadh (POLO), without requiring a specific number of contracts. Also, not to stop dealing with the offices for just regular complaints, to inform Riyadh Chamber about Filipino offices which don't abide by the regulations. As a consequence, there won't be any deals with these offices.

                Mr. Waleed Alsuwaidan, the Vice President of Saudi -Philippine Business Council and member of the Recruitment Offices Committee in Riyadh Chamber, has confirmed during the meeting the importance of discussing all the issues about recruitment sector related to the problems faced by Philippine labors and imposed standards to ensure the rights of the two parties.

          Mr. Alsuwaidan said that the cooperation and coordination between the two sides is important because it helps to solve the problems they face. He appreciated the visit of the delegation to Riyadh Chamber to meet the owners of recruitment offices.

                Ms. Esterlita confirmed Phillippine Government's keenness to overcome all the obstacles, noting in this regard to issue a number of new regulations that are related to Filipino workers, saying it is in the interest of the two parties and to guarantee their right.

                She also mentioned that Philippines is interested in solving the problems. Indicating that the Philippine labors have skills, abilities and experiences gained through training programs before working. In addition,  Philippines is ready to meet the needs of employment in Saudi Arabia. Philippines appreciate the announcement of economic and developmental programs and the Philippines ability to provide skilled labors to help in improving these programs.
