Mr. Majid Al Hakeer, member of the Board of Directors and Head of the Tourism and Recreation Committee in Riyadh Chamber, clarified that the Committee represented by the Accommodation Committee is currently working to prepare the general framework for the study of the development and stimulation of the Tourist Accommodation Sector and the provision of solutions to the challenges it faces in accordance with the suggestions submitted in this regard.
Al Hakeer stated, that the study aims at developing the Tourist Accommodation Sector based on its important role in achieving the objectives of 2030 vision in the aspect connected to the revitalization of the tourism sector in the Kingdom and considering the tourism sector as one of the most prominent alternatives for the post-oil economies.
On the other hand, Mr. Faisal Al Mutlaq, the Head of the Accommodation Committee in the Chamber and Chairman of the Saudi Society of the Tourism Accommodation Facilities, confirmed that the objective of the study is the diagnosis and treatment of the challenges facing the sector. In addition to the revitalization of the private sector role in the tourism sector through increasing the volume of investments stressing that this trend will contribute to the opening of new channels to diversify the sources of income which will push of the wheel of the economy and achieve the sustainable development.
