Monitoring Challenges Facing Supply Chains in Major Projects

The Riyadh Chamber organized a panel workshop titled “Developing Construction Procurement Services for Projects,” attended by Board Member and Chairman of the Contracting, Building Materials, Engineering, and Safety Committee, Eng. Ibrahim bin Abdulrahman Ibn Al-Sheikh, along with a number of specialists and stakeholders in this vital sector.

The workshop comes as part of the Chamber’s ongoing efforts to support the contracting sector and enable it to keep pace with regulatory and technological transformations, while strengthening its vital role in achieving comprehensive development goals. It aimed to discuss ways to improve the supply system in the contracting and construction sector in line with the Kingdom’s development aspirations, contributing to enhancing project execution efficiency and quality, as well as strengthening integration among various supply chain stakeholders.

The workshop addressed several key themes, most notably the urban development boom in the Kingdom under Saudi Vision 2030, the importance of reengineering procurement processes for contractors and promoting integration models, in addition to reviewing the role of digital platforms in serving the contracting sector, such as the “Contractor Market” platform. Participants also discussed the challenges facing supply chains in major projects, while highlighting key solutions and proposals that contribute to improving supply efficiency and ensuring project sustainability.​
