The Riyadh Chamber (the Chamber of Commerce in Riyadh) is committed to providing the highest level of protection in the processing of personal data of customers/beneficiaries based on applicable data protection laws, regulations, and policies. This notice explains how data is collected, used, stored, and how your personal data is handled and processed. It applies to you whenever you use the website, whether you are an individual customer/beneficiary or a representative of a client/beneficiary of an organization or company (including former, current, and potential customers/beneficiaries).


Personal data​:
Personal data consists of all information collected and reviewed by the chamber that can directly or indirectly identify you, including information received from third parties and data collected through the use of the website, cookies, or other similar technologies.

More specifically, the personal data that the chamber may collect or process about you includes the following:

  • Identification Information: including your name, date of birth, place of birth, nationality, country of residence, residence permit details, national ID, passport details, contact information, and photo.
  • Interactions with You: including records of phone calls between you and the chamber, related information such as your phone number, time and date of calls, message contents, call duration, directions, and types of calls.
  • Internal Identifiers: assigned by the chamber to you, such as your business relationship, partner, information, project name, or customer/beneficiary ID.
  • Contact Information: including postal address, national address, phone number, email address, and mobile number.
  • The subscriber (company or institution) expressly acknowledges their consent for the Riyadh Chamber to request or obtain their personal data or information from government entities or relevant authorities whenever necessary to provide a service or achieve a purpose related to the Chamber’s organizational or administrative activities, in accordance with the applicable regulations in the Kingdom and the provisions of the Personal Data Protection Law, provided that such data shall not be disclosed to any third party without additional consent or a legal basis.​
  • Subscription and Service Details: including new subscriptions, subscription renewals, membership updates, subscription fees, signature approvals, membership data updates, cancellation of memberships, issuance of certificates, and other similar activities such as issuing commercial competition permits, commercial campaign permits, or electronic verification services.
  • Surveys and Polls: The data and information related to surveys and opinion poll services will greatly contribute to the ability to analyze the current situation of Saudi enterprises and to facilitate the identification of challenges and solutions. These efforts also help in effectively preparing and analyzing studies to support the private sector and achieve economic development goals.

The chamber uses cookies to store files (cookies) on your computer when you visit our portal for the first time. Processing Personal Data
The chamber may process your personal data for the following purposes:
  • Providing services, including verifying the quality of services provided to you and completing any requests you have made.

  • Awareness campaigns executed with or without third-party support used by the chamber.
  • Communications and public relations related to the provision of services or consultation.

  • Compliance with laws, policies, standards, guidelines, court orders, or requests from any governmental authority or regulatory body.
  • Investigating violations, identifying offenders, and taking necessary actions to address any violations.
  • Establishing, exercising, or defending legal rights in connection with legal proceedings (including any potential legal actions) and seeking professional or legal advice regarding these legal proceedings.
  • Sharing/disclosing personal data with third parties in the following specific cases:
    1. If you explicitly consent to the disclosure.
    2. If the personal data is obtained from a publicly available source.
    3. If the requesting entity is a public entity (for security purposes, the enforcement of another system, or to meet preventive requirements).
    4. If disclosure is necessary to protect public health, safety, or to protect the life or health of an individual or individuals concerned.
    5. If the disclosure is limited to processing in a manner that does not identify the data subject or any other specific individual.
  • ​The chamber does not collect personal information that can identify children or individuals under the age of 18. If you believe that someone has provided such information on our website and is under 18 years old, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately, and we will ensure that this information is removed from our records.


Consent
  • The chamber processes your personal data to provide its services, comply with applicable legal or regulatory obligations, or based on the chamber’s legitimate interest to provide you with sufficient and high-quality services.
  • The chamber processes your personal data based on your consent. Typically, the personal data required by the chamber is necessary for providing a service to you or for your use of the website. If you do not provide your personal data, the chamber may not be able to comply with its legal or regulatory obligations or provide the requested products and services. If providing your data is necessary for a service, the chamber will inform you of the consequences of not providing it.
  • You have the right to withdraw your consent for the use of your personal data at any time through the communication channels used by the chamber. Withdrawal of consent will take effect within 30 days from receiving the request, but it will not affect the legality of any data processing carried out before the withdrawal took effect or any subsequent processing related to the chamber’s activities.


Access to Personal Data
Your personal data will be processed by the chamber with full confidentiality and will only be accessed when necessary, under law, regulations, or court orders, by our staff responsible for providing the related products and services.


Retention of Personal Data
  • Your personal data is processed by the Chamber and retained only for the period necessary to achieve the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by applicable laws and regulations, while ensuring that the retention period does not exceed the legally prescribed limits, in line with the Personal Data Protection Law.
  • At the end of these periods, your personal data will be securely deleted or archived to comply with legal retention obligations or applicable statutory limitation periods, in accordance with the security procedures outlined in the guidelines of the National Cybersecurity Authority.​


Monitoring
As permitted by law, we may record and monitor your communication with us to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory obligations and our internal policies. This may include recording phone calls.


Your Rights
Under the applicable law (Personal Data Protection Law in Saudi Arabia), you may have the right to request details of your personal data processed by the chamber. Your rights may include:
  1. Right to Information: You have the right to know the legal basis and purpose of the collection and processing of your personal information.
  2. Right to Access: You have the right to obtain from the chamber the correction of inaccurate personal data related to you without undue delay.
  3. Right to Correction: You have the right to request correction of inaccurate personal data.
  4. Right to Erasure: You can request the erasure of personal data that is no longer necessary for the chamber's operations.
  5. Right to Restrict Processing: You have the right to restrict processing if you dispute the accuracy of your data, or if the chamber no longer needs it but you require it for legal claims.
  6. Right to Data Portability: You have the right to request that your data be made available to others or yourself for any lawful purpose.

Security
The security and confidentiality of your personal data is important to us, and the chamber has invested significant resources to protect the confidentiality of your personal data. We ensure that any third-party service providers we engage to process data comply with the same standards as the chamber.

In the event of any security breach or unauthorized leakage of personal data, the Chamber is committed to notifying the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) and the data subjects within (72) hours of discovering the incident, while documenting the incident details and the corrective actions taken to address and mitigate its impact.​​


Social Media
The chamber manages accounts on social media platforms to communicate, assist, and engage with customers/beneficiaries. The chamber monitors and records comments and posts on these channels to improve its services.

Please note that you should not share the following​ types of information through social media:
  • Confidential personal data, including any information about your financial status, bank account details, transactions, etc.

  • Sensitive personal data, including:
    (a) Special categories of personal data, meaning any information revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, or trade union membership, as well as the processing of genetic data or biometric data for the purpose of uniquely identifying a natural person, and data relating to health, or to a person’s sexual life or sexual orientation.
    (b) Other sensitive personal data such as criminal convictions and offenses, national identification number, and other information defined by regulations — all of which are subject to additional security controls and stricter processing requirements.

  • Excessive, inappropriate, insulting, or offensive information directed at individuals.

The Chamber is not responsible for any information published on those platforms except for information posted by its employees on its behalf. The Chamber is only responsible for its own use of the personal data received through those platforms.


Changes to This Privacy Policy
The chamber may update this policy from time to time at its discretion, in accordance with changing laws, regulations, standards, or any legal order received by the chamber.

This privacy policy does not apply to third-party websites where our ads or awareness materials are displayed online, nor to affiliated third-party websites that we do not operate or control.


Your Acceptance of These Terms
By using this website, you indicate your acceptance of this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use our website. Your continued use of the site after any changes to this policy are posted will be considered your acceptance of those changes.​
